Who’s Afraid of Red Yellow and Blue

Original Image
A send-up of Barnett Newman’s piece of the same title, in shades of gray in RGB channels. (The dotted line is a moire effect created by the computer monitor you might be using). This is the interesting thing about digital art only viewed on screens, as there are artifacts (such as moires), and a separation of the color and luminance in three separate channels. Offset printing has its own artifacts created by the separation into CMYK.

Philip Taaffe also did a riff on the Newman with We Are Not Afraid
