Art enterprises of Lee Barry, musician, writer, and artist.
Conceptual ideas, abstractions of nature, metaphors, and influences of various periods in art history provide the inspiration for most of my projects.
The sight of an unraveled cassette tape, or a broken and scratched CD on the sidewalk is the symbolic detritus of old technology, and doubly ironic in that it is less frequent that you even see such a thing anymore. Trash can easily become a novelty and perhaps art material. With any kind of recording, the content is embedded in cultural memory and really doesn't need the medium itself. Those that know of Cat Stevens, see this as tragic, but the music is still discoverable.
